Third-Generation iPod Touch

Definition:

Third Generation iPod touch - The Third Generation iPod touch is distinct from its predecessor due only to its increased capacity and faster processor.

The third generation iPod touch has the same dimensions and weight as the second-generation model: 4.3 x 2.4 x .33 inches and 4.05 ounces.

Like its predecessor, this model includes an accelerometer that senses how the user is holding or moving the device and allows content on the screen to respond accordingly.

As always, the touch can still be described as an iPhone without the phone features. It has the same basic design, includes a large touchscreen, offers WiFi Internet connectivity, and iPod features including music and video playback, wireless music purchases from the iTunes Store, and CoverFlow browsing. In fact, a key addition in the third-generation model is the same processor as used in the iPhone 3GS, giving the device more processing power and allowing it to display more complex graphics using OpenGL.
