How To Reset/Restart a frozen iPod shuffle

By , About.com Guide

If your iPod Shuffle isn't responding to clicks, it's probably frozen up. To fix this, you'll need to restart it. Luckily, resetting a frozen iPod Shuffle is pretty easy. Here’s how you do it (this works for the both the first generation and second generation iPod Shuffle).

Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: Less than 1 Minute

Here's How:

  1. Disconnect your iPod Shuffle from your computer.

  2. Find the switch on the back (first generation) or the top (second generation) and move it to the off position. You won't see any of the green strip when it's in the off position.

  3. Wait five seconds.

  4. Move the switch back to play or shuffle. Your iPod should be working fine now!
