Guide Review - Iron Man: Aerial Assault - iPhone and iPod touch Game Review
After the special-effects-laden excitement of the Iron Man film, an Iron Man video game looks like a sure winner - even moreso when you add flying and shooting lasers and missiles to the mix. Sadly, that's not the case with Iron Man: Aerial Assault, an iPhone and iPod touch game.
It's a pretty simple plot: As Iron Man, fly around and shoot down missiles, planes, and other things hurtling through the air at you. Unfortunately, actually playing the game isn't as simple.
You control Iron Man's movements by tilting the iPhone/iPod touch. But, unlike other similar games, instead of tilting side to side, you tilt forwards and backwards. This is an interesting idea, but ultimately an unwieldy one, as tilting way makes it hard to see the screen and makes you crane your neck to see the action. The onscreen controls for firing at enemies are a little more usable.
Because of the difficulty of controlling the game, it's just not that much fun. I played a few levels, but that felt more like work than a game. That's enough for me.
