Using iPodCopy, an iPod Copy and Backup Tool, on Windows

Install and Configure iTunes

Before using iPodCopy to copy your iPod library to the new PC, you'll need to install iTunes. Learn how to install iTunes on Windows here.

When iTunes is installed, you'll need to change one setting in order for iPodCopy to work. Do the following:

  1. Go to the Edit menu -> iTunes Preferences.
  2. Select Advanced Tab.
  3. Check the box next to "Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to the library."
  4. Click OK to close iTunes preferences.
