The Pockets UNZ2 iPod case is a budget-priced iPod case from Case Logic designed to work with most larger iPod models. But, just like Case Logics other Pockets models (UNP1 review, UNP2 review), its mostly designed to protect the iPod and prevents you from using the iPod while in the case.
The Pockets UNZ2 is a neoprene case that stretches and zips up around the iPod. Its sized to fit the larger iPod models (first through fifth generation) most snuggly. Smaller iPods like nanos and Shuffles will fit, but there will be a lot of room in the case with those models inside. No matter what model is inside, theres a small amount of room for other items like credit cards or licenses.
The case does a good job protecting the iPod from superficial scratches and includes a reinforced panel to better protect the screen. An included lanyard helps you keep the iPod and case close to you.
Though certainly competent at protecting the iPod, and reasonably good looking (the case comes in crimson, black, electric lime, and navy), the Pockets UNZ2 doesnt allow you to use the iPod when its in the case. Because the case zips up around the iPod completely and prevents access to the screen, clickwheel, or headphone port, you cant really use the iPod in the case (the zipper can be opened a bit to reveal the headphone port, though).
This seems a big drawback to me, but for a budget-priced case just designed to keep your iPod safe in transit, the Case Logic Pockets UNZ2 isnt a bad offering.
