The DLO PodFolio iPod case offers both protection and style for iPod video owners.
The case, which works with all fifth-generation iPod video models – 30GB, 60GB, or 80GB – is made from a stylish black leather and sports a protective cover that sits over the iPod’s face and can be flipped up to reveal the iPod’s controls. The flippable face is secured to the case using a magnet and the case itself can be secured to a belt or other, similar item via the included clip.
The case leaves openings for headphones and the dock connector. You have to open the flap in order to access the hold button.
When the flap is opened, the iPod’s face and controls are revealed. There is no protection for the screen or Clickwheel in this configuration, which is a little worrying. The flip face of the case protects these elements in most cases, but still, leaving the iPod’s two most important features open to scratching makes me nervous. Testing, however, found that the magnet fastener did not open in a bag, despite some jostling and other things in the bag.
The DLO PodFolio is, ultimately, a stylish leather iPod case that can sit equally well on the belt of someone wearing a suit or jeans. And, for the businessperson, the case even includes a little pocket on the inside of the flap to accommodate business cards or a license.
For users seeking both protection for their iPods and a more sophisticated style from their iPod case, the DLO PodFolio is a good bet.
