The Incase Leather Folio is an iPod video case that provides style and good protection for the iPod, but is limited by the difficulty of using the Clickwheel through the case.
The Leather Folio works with the first two iPod videos – the 30GB and 60 GB models. The 80GB model can fit in the case, but it’s a somewhat imprecise fit.
The case is stylish black leather and has a protective flap that sits over the iPod’s face and opens to reveal the iPod’s controls. The flap is secured to the case with Velcro and has a belt clip on it. This design is particularly smart, since when the case is clipped to a belt, opening the flap provides easy access to the iPod’s controls. This makes changing songs without having to unclip the case a snap.
The case leaves openings for headphones and the hold button.
The Incase Leather Folio is stylish and well designed. It provides full protection for the iPod, including the screen and the Clickwheel. Protection for the Clickwheel is also the case’s main weakness. The Clickwheel covering makes it harder to scroll through the iPod’s contents than without a case or with other cases. The scrolling is decent, and doesn’t cause incorrect clicks, but using this case prevents scrolling the iPod at maximum speed.
Despite this small drawback, the Incase Leather Folio for iPod video is a solid, stylish iPod case that merits a close look by style-conscious buyers.
