There are a few things that you want out of a good iPod sport case: light weight, good looks, ease of use, and a good fit are among the most important items.
The Incase Sport Armband for iPod nano passes the test in the first three areas, but unfortunately doesn’t offer a good enough fit to hit a homerun.
The case consists of a small neoprene sleeve attached to a stretchy neoprene armband. The sleeve has plastic cover that gives full access to the iPod nano’s screen and Clickwheel, while still protecting the iPod from scratches. It’s easy to get the nano in and out of the case and the protection is great.
The Sport Armband for iPod nano is feather light and good looking, sporting a sleek shape and versions in pink and black.
It’s also machine washable (washing directions are printed on), a nice touch that will help the case from getting too sweaty or smelly after long sessions in the gym.
The biggest drawback to the case, though, is that the armband just doesn’t stretch far enough for a comfortable fit. Though the neoprene supposed to allow it to stretch around any arm, this doesn’t work out in practice.
I work out a few days a week, and while no one will ever confuse me with a bodybuilder, I have some arm muscle. I was able to stretch the armband around my arm without much trouble, but it was so tight that leaving it there for a few minutes cut off my circulation a bit and was uncomfortable.
The armband fit fine around my forearm, but felt as though it might fall off (though it never did).
Except for the fit issue, the Incase Sport Armband for iPod nano is a good case. But, since the case will fit some, but not all, you may want to try it on in the store before buying.
