There are iPod cases for many uses: for travel, for storage, for sports, for style.
The Belkin Clear Acrylic and Brushed Metal Case is a case thats well suited for day-to-day use while traveling and moving throughout your life. Though not ideal for sports uses, since it doesnt include a belt clip or armband for keeping out of your way, its a terrific case for storing your iPod in a backpack, pocket, or jacket.
The case, as its name indicates, is a clear, hard acrylic protector that the Video iPod rests snuggly inside of and then has a faceplate snapped into place over it. The faceplate comes in different colors that simulate a brushed metal look, though each case only comes with one color. The case has openings for the headphone jack, hold button, and dock connector.
The acrylic is sturdy and thick, giving the case and iPod combination both a decent heft and also a sense of security (though the case doesnt provide reinforcement against drops).
An especially nice touch is the clear cover for the Clickwheel, which protects the wheel from scratching while still being touch-sensitive enough to provide seamless use of the clickwheel.
One thing to note, though, is that the backing of the case is different depths for the 30 GB model and the deeper 60 GB and 80 GB models. Inside the packaging there are two backings, though the deeper one is placed in such a way as to make it seem like part of the packaging (made doubly difficult because it is clear). So, if youve got a larger iPod model, double check your packaging to make sure you get the right piece.
That aside, if youre planning to use your iPod on the go and need some sturdy protection, the Belkin Clear Acrylic and Brushed Metal Case is a good bet.
