Top iPhone Apps for Celebrating New Year's Eve

Find the perfect bottle of champagne for your New Year's festivities with the French Wines app ($0.99). It is from the makers of Guide Hachette des Vins, a well-renowned guide to French wines, and includes quality ratings for over 700 wines, including many different varieties of champagne. If you don’t know much about wine or champagne, the app’s useful glossary will quickly get you up to speed. 

The cute Clink-Clink app (Free) is fun to have on hand for any occasion, but it’s especially appropriate for New Year's Eve. By "clinking" your iPhone with another, you can exchange toasts for New Year's Eve or other holidays. The app also integrates with Facebook so you can post toasts directly on your wall. The champagne bubbles look surprisingly realistic!

The New Year's Noise app ($0.99) transforms your iPhone into a noisemaker. There are a variety of noises to choose from, including a cowbell, party horn, air horn, and siren. If you just want to make a lot of noise without browsing through the menu, you can shake your iPhone to play a new sound. The Times Square backdrop is another festive touch.

It does more than just tell you the days, hours, and minutes until New Year's Eve -- it also displays multiple time zones so you can see exactly when the clock ticks midnight in Sydney, London, New York, or any other location.  

Planning a party for New Year's Eve? The Simple Soiree app ($1.99) includes a host of features that will make the planning process a little bit easier. You can fire off invitations right from the app, create menus and shopping lists, and manage your to-do list. The app will also track your RSVPs. Even better, you can use this app throughout the year -- not just for New Year's Eve.
