Some CDs are designed to listened to without the short gaps of silence between songs. These are called “gapless” tracks or CDs and they include some classical music recordings and concert recordings, among others.
When you’re burning a CD in iTunes, you may need to ensure that the CD you’re burning is gapless so that it plays back the way it was meant to sound. Here’s how to burn a gapless CD in iTunes:
Here's How:
Follow the standard steps for burning a CD. Just before you put the blank CD into your computer, you'll need to change a setting in iTunes.
On a Mac, go to the iTunes menu and choose Preferences.
On a PC, go to the Edit menu and choose Preferences.- In the Preferences window that pops up, choose "Advanced." In Advanced, choose "Burning."
- In the "Burning" tab, you’ll see a "Disc Format" section in the middle of the window. Next to the line that reads "Gap Between Songs," there's a pull-down menu that lets you choose to have no gap or up to a 5 second gap. Since you’re creating a gapless disc, choose "none."
- Click OK and then return to the standard CD burning process.
