Gapless playback is a feature of iTunes and some iPod models that allows albums to play without any silence between tracks. This is useful since concert bootlegs, live albums, classical music, and some other albums are designed to be heard straight through, with no interruption between songs.
For gapless playback to work, you must turn it on. You must also have an iPod that supports it. The following models support gapless playback:
- all iPhone models
- all iPad models
- all iPod touch models
- 2nd generation iPod nano and higher
- 5th generation iPod and newer
- iPod Classic
