Lots of features, but a little slow
I love the idea of consolidating all those paper maps into one easy-to-use app, and the Disney World Maps and More Box Set delivers in most areas. It includes maps for all the major attractions, including the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Downtown Disney, and much more.
The maps themselves are rather detailed. They include rides, attractions, restaurants, bathrooms, and character greetings. You can zoom in and out of the maps and tap the icon to see details for any attraction or restaurant. The restaurant detail pages include menus, and you can even mark the attractions you want to visit with a priority.
The wait time functionality is pretty strong, and the Walt Disney World Maps and More app includes times for all of the big popular rides like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and It’s a Small World. I also like that the app includes a calendar of special events and opening times.
However, my biggest complaint is that the app’s navigation can be sluggish, especially when exiting a detail page to go back to the map. The slowdown only lasts a few seconds, but it certainly gets annoying when you are trying to zoom around.
The Bottom Line
The Walt Disney World Maps and More app has a strong feature set, including dozens of maps, wait time functionality, restaurant menus, opening times, and more. The maps are easy to navigate, but the interface can be sluggish when navigating back to the maps from the detail pages. Overall rating: 3.5 stars out of 5.
