iPhone: More Ringtones, Ringbacks, Wireless Downloads?
Ahead of next month's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), at which Apple will unveil the final version of the iPhone 2.0 software that allows third-party programs, and where it is rumored that the new iPhone will be announced, the company is apparently in discussions to boost its phone-related music offerings.
This boost would come in three forms, according to a piece in the New York Times: more ringtones, ringback tones (the sound callers hear, instead of just the "ring" sound), and downloads of music over wireless carriers (the iPhone WiFi Music Store already offers wireless downloads when connected to WiFi networks).
To all of which, I say bravo and bring it on. More details at the NYT link.
