Sony Catalog Hits eMusic
As announced in early June, today Sony's vast catalog of music has become available to eMusic subscribers.
The site's messageboards have been thick with complaints from customers upset at the changes in their subscription plans (eMusic offers a fixed number of downloads each month for a flat fee; those plans changed with Sony's entrance). Still, lots of important new artists have hit the site today - from Bob Dylan to The Clash, Bruce Springsteen to Run DMC - and I'm enjoying browsing all the new content.
With this expansion, eMusic is becoming a more serious competitor to iTunes and Amazon MP3. If the site can add other labels, it may become an even bigger player.
