MMS Comes to iPhone - But Not in U.S.

Monday November 24, 2008

One of the most sought-after features for the iPhone - and perhaps the devices most glaring and confusing omission - is MMS, multimedia messaging. It always flummoxes people that they can't send or receive pictures or other media through text messages on the phone, since practically every other decent phone with a camera in the world can do so. Well, that's about to change.

Sort of.

MMS is coming to the iPhone. Yay! Finally! But only in Sweden. Boo (unless you're in Sweden).

Apple approved Telia, its iPhone partner in Sweden, to develop an MMS app for the iPhone there. Swedes can expect the app in the next few months. For those of us in the rest of world, we can live in hope.
