Big Changes On Tap for iPhone?
As we approach the widely expected release of the second-generation iPhone this summer, rumors are swirling that the next iPhone is going to be very different. From its design and features to its contracts terms, the new iPhone may add more than just 3G wireless connectivity.
When it comes to hardware and user experience, a rumor holds that the physical shape of the phone may have changed in the new model, including introducing a flip style phone or a real keyboard replacing the current on-screen one.
On the calling plan side, a rumor says that Italy will be getting the 3G iPhone without carrier exclusivity, meaning that any cell phone carrier could theoretically offer the device to its customers. If that's true, and spreads to other countries, expect Apple to sell a lot more iPhones. Some people just don't like AT&T and if they could get the iPhone from a company they do like, they would.
We'll need to wait a few more weeks to find out if these rumors are true, of course. In the meantime, enjoy the speculation.
