iEphemera: iPhone Around the World
Friday April 18, 2008
While the iPhone isn't much of a story in the U.S. right now - people are using a lot of them and loving them, of course, but nothing really exciting is coming until the release of iPhone software 2.0 and the likely release of the 3G iPhone this summer - the device continues its spread across the world.
- The iPhone may come to India this year and Vodafone may be the carrier
- O2, the UK carrier for the iPhone, has cut its local iPhone price to £169 for the 8GB model for a limited time. The 16GB stays at the same price.
- There's no getting the story straight on this one: Despite stories to the contrary and other denials, a new report says there are no discussions on bringing the iPhone to China. The issue seems to be Apple's revenue-sharing demand that other carriers have agreed to already.
