Community Tech Support: iPhone On-The-Go Playlists

This is the first of a new, irregular series I'm going to be running on the blog. I'll post here when a reader emails me with a question that I feel like I don't have a satisfactory answer to. If other readers out there have good answers, leave them in the comments on the post. This way, not just the first emailer gets helped - all readers do.

Away we go. Ryan asks:

On the traditional iPod I could create an on the go playlist by simply holding down the center button, then moving on to the next song, on the iPhone however, I find myself having to scroll through a series of screens. There seems to be no way of simply adding a song without going into my on the go, choosing edit, locating the song, and then choosing done. Is there any faster way of accomplishing this?
