UPDATED: Multiple Studios to Offer iTunes Video Rentals?
Well, it looks like Fox might not be alone in Apple's online video store, if reports in the New York Times are correct. Earlier this week the news came out that Apple is likely to launch a video rental store at iTunes at Macworld in January. 20th Century Fox was to be the first studio on board. Now, the NYT reports that other studios - unnamed, so far - will also be there for the launch. Disney seems likely, since Steve Jobs not only runs Apple, but is also Disney's largest shareholder.
Update: Variety is reporting that Disney is indeed on board for the offering, though Sony, Warner Bros., and Universal are not. Rentals will reportedly cost $2-$5 and expire in 24 hours.
