Apple Dropping iTunes Plus Prices to $0.99?
Tuesday October 16, 2007
It appears that iTunes Plus, the DRM-free offering from the iTunes Store that gives users unrestricted, higher-quality songs, is going to see a price cut. While iTunes Plus songs have cost US$1.29 in the past, the recent debut of AmazonMP3, which sells DRM-free songs for $0.99 each, seems to be driving iTunes prices down. For now, selected iTunes Plus songs are selling at iTunes for $0.99 each, but the rumormill tells us to expect an across-the-board price cut on these songs in the next day or two.
