Paul McCartney Coming to iTunes, Beatles to Follow?

Monday May 14, 2007
The biggest single musical group to not yet have their work available for purchase at the iTunes Store is the Beatles. There are lots of reasons for this - previous lawsuits between Apple Inc. and the Beatles' Apple Corps., a general hesitancy to license music for digital purchase, etc. - but the bottom line has been that legions are clamoring for the chance to buy the Beatles at iTunes. Well, those people can clamor a bit less, because it looks like they'll get their wish soon. Paul McCartney's new album, "Memory Almost Full," will be available at iTunes in the Starbucks Hear Music section of the store. This, after the two Apples settled their legal issues in February, seem to be paving the way for the Beatles to come online, too.
