LibriVox - A Gift to Audio Book Lovers
Thursday March 8, 2007
Audio book lovers, LibriVox could be a great gift to you. LibriVox is a site that provides audio books of public domain works of literature as free downloads and lets you keep up to date with what they're offering through RSS feeds.
It even lets you donate your time and golden throat by reading works for them to post. Though the quality of the readings does remain to be seen (or really heard, at least by me), this seems like a great idea. I'd love to hear from anyone who's got experience with LibriVox content.

I’m a LibriVox volunteer, so I’m definitely biased in favor of our project.
I think, if you’ll dip into an assortment of our recordings, you’ll find that most of our readers are quite enjoyable to listen to. Our volunteer readers come all over the world, with all kinds of accents and dialects. Some read slower, some read faster, some “do voices”, some don’t. None of us are professionals and no one is getting paid; we’re all there because we LOVE to read out loud and share our favorite public domain books with the world. We have collaborative recordings, where the chapters are divided among many readers, and solo recordings, which are read by one reader all the way through. When you find a reader you really like, you can search our catalog for more recordings by the same reader. Happy listening!
I have visited this site, this is a very good site to visit.
Here is another site which is similar to this site.
