iTunes adds Lionsgate Movies

Tuesday February 13, 2007

Apple and Lionsgate have announced that many Lionsgate films will now be available for purchase at the iTunes Store, with some of the movies already available for purchase. This addition brings the total number of movies available in the iTunes Store to over 400, which is a good step.

Lionsgate movies already available at iTunes include Terminator 2, Reservoir Dogs, Dirty Dancing, and The Blair Witch Project.

Movies that will be added soon include Monster's Ball, Rambo, and Total Recall.

Apple signing more movie companies on for iTunes is great news. For horror fans like me, the addition of Lionsgate is even better, since the company is heavy into horror movie making. Here's hoping we see more horror on iTunes soon. Now, if iTunes would only add horror as a browsable genre (how can you have The Blair Witch Project categorized as anything else?).
