Hang Me Up to Dry

Cold War Kids, hailing from Fullerton, CA., have an appealing, though not quite distinct, indie rock sound.
"Hang Me Up to Dry" brings indie rock darlings The Walkmen to my mind pretty quickly. Both bands employ catchy, somewhat lackadaisical, but groove-heavy, verse sections and higher, more intense singing.
"Hang Me Up to Dry" is an interesting track in that it doesn't quite have a chorus. It's more composed of a groove and a series of verses - which is not a bad thing.
While catchy, to my ear the song would work great as the soundtrack to a movie, TV show, or commercial. So "Hang Me Up to Dry" is perhaps best as background music. But it's pretty good background music.
Will be enjoyed by: Indie rock fans, especially those who enjoy The Walkmen.
Worth the download: Sure.
